AMD’s Advanced 400MHz FSB
Always racing neck to neck with Intel, AMD is proud to present its first product to support Advanced 400 MHz FSB, the AMD AthlonXP 3200+, today. The processor features the 400MHz front side bus and is the third desktop chip released with AMD’s Barton core, which increases the amount of cache to an impressive 512KB. Another advantage of this first AMD FSB400 processor is that it perfects the processor with DDR400 and nForce2 chipsets, boosting the overall system performance.
To show the performance increase generated by the AMD AthlonXP 3200+, we compared it to its predecessor, the 3000+. Below, you will find the test configuration we used, the test procedure and the test results:
Test Configuration (FSB400 VS FSB333)
