GIGABYTE Announces TweaKING Contest Results

Europe’s top overclockers and tweakers show their magic with GIGABYTE

Taipei, Taiwan, November 9, 2009 – The GIGABYTE TweaKING Event, the world’s first and largest Tweaking competition, successfully took place on October 27th, 2009. A total of 20 teams from 22 European countries gathered at Le Meridien Hotel in Paris, France to compete for the title of the GIGABYTE Tweak KING. After 5 hours of fierce competition, GIGABYTE is pleased to announce that team Czech, consisting of Obr and VIK, was crowned Super Pi KING with their fantastic score of 9,03.469 at a maximum of 4Ghz. They were followed by Team Belgium in 2nd place and Team Latvia/Estonia in 3rd place.

The 4GHz CPU limitation distinguishes tweaking from overclocking where there is no CPU speed ceiling, and in the 3D Mark 01 competition contestants could optimize 3D Mark 01 Runorder and overclock the graphics and memory to boost 3D performance. The KING of 3D Mark 2001 was team Turkey with teammates hey and TosunerMC and hey who scored 81590 in this competition, 2nd place was Team Belgium and Team Norway took 3rd place. Other components used include an Intel® Core™ i5 750 CPU, GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD6 motherboard, GIGABYTE GV-N26SO-896I VGA card, Kingston KHX2000C9D3T1K23/4GX memory, and Kingston 64GB SSD V-series.

As Europe’s largest and most successful hardware tweaking competition, the GIGABYTE TweaKING Competition has set the benchmark for future tweaking events.
