Taipei, Taiwan – Dec. 20th, 2010 – ADATA Technology Co., Ltd., a worldwide leader in DRAM memory and Flash application products, today unveiled the S501 Solid State Drive (SSD), equipped with SATA 6Gb/s. With this cutting edge implementation of the latest data transfer standard, the speed performance has been dramatically raised 60% over conventional SATA II products.
The ADATA S501, with the SATA 6Gb/s interface, provides higher performance – read and write speeds up to 480MB and 310MB per second in simulation tests. The S501 implements the toggle DDR 2.0 specification , while maintaining backwards compatibility with the SATA 3Gb/second and SATA 1.5Gb/second interfaces. Cables and connectors from previous SATA generations can still be used, easing integration for early adapters. In addition, the stability of the data stored in the SSD is ensured, as the 8 MLC Toshiba flash chips give high level of consistency. The ADATA S501 comes with 128 MB DDR III cache memory and Dynamic Wear Leveling, reducing the data search time and the frequency at which the flash chips are erased. These factors combine to result in better efficiency and longer average lifespan for the SSD.
The ADATA S501 SSD applies various technologies to optimize performance. The Windows 7 TRIM command is supported, which handles garbage collection (GC) overhead without defragmentation. While writing data, the S501 implements an intelligent algorithm, which thoroughly solves the progressive decline of transfer speeds that usually occurs with long-term disk use. The silver aluminum textured case provides both heat dissipation and an aesthetic effect. The S501 will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB capacities.
Users of ADATA SSDs are able to download Norton Internet Security 2011 (60-day trial) for free and experience enhanced mobility and security with just few mouse clicks away. All ADATA SDDs are backed by 3-year product warranty. For more information, please visit the company website at www.adata-group.com
