According to data presented by Betideas.com, with a remarkable $1.58 billion in revenue, Monopoly GO ranked as the second top-grossing mobile game in 2024, leaving industry’s giants Roblox, PUBG Mobile and Candy Crush Saga in the dust.

Monopoly GO Grossed Approximately $400 Million More than Roblox, PUBG Mobile, and Candy Crush Saga

In less than two years, Monopoly GO became the top name in the mobile gaming world, generating revenue that typically belongs to only a few elite titles. In 2024, only seven mobile games grossed over one billion dollars, and Monopoly GO was the second most successful among them.

The title took the mobile gaming world by storm, combining a classic board game with a fresh, interactive twist that drew both nostalgic and modern mobile gamers. Furthermore, the engaging gameplay, frequent rewards and in-game events have kept players hooked, helping Monopoly Go to hit record revenue and downloads.

According to AppMagic data, Monopoly GO was the second top-grossing mobile game in 2024, with a remarkable $1.58 billion in revenue. Only one industry giant, Honor of Kings, made more money, with $1.86 billion in revenue reported for the year.

The global success of Monopoly’s mobile version is even more impressive when compared to other top-grossing titles, which have dominated this list for years. For instance, megahits Roblox, PUBG Mobile, and Candy Crush Saga all reported approximately $400 million lower revenue. Coin Master and Brawl Stars earned twice less than Monopoly GO, while Genshin Impact and Gardenscapes grossed only one-third of its total.

Impressive 164 Million Downloads in Less than Two Years

Although the initial frenzy surrounding Monopoly GO has slowed, the game still saw an average of 3.5 million monthly downloads in the second half of 2024, pushing its total download figures to impressive highs.

The AppMagic data show Monopoly GO was downloaded 60.4 million times last year, which wasn’t enough to place it on the top 20 list. However, the game’s lifetime total reached over 164 million downloads, which is a huge achievement considering it’s been on the market for less than two years.

For context, industry veterans Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile also hit the 160 million download milestone in less than two years, highlighting just how impressive Monopoly GO’s success is.
