Sun Smith, a space incremental game with a definite ending, has opened a free public playtest on Steam. The player awakens an ancient derelict drifting in a dark star system and helps it repair itself.
Where many incremental games run on forever, Sun Smith is built to finish. It’s a relaxing, minimalist take on resource management, with a goal to reach instead of an endless climb.
Progress starts with power. Players harvest energy, unlock new orbits and watch the whole system come alive around the derelict. Along the way they mine ore, fabricate components and research new technologies, while an active style of play means clicks and upgrades matter at every step.
The Build Has Already Moved On
The playtest is not a frozen build. Since it opened, Ebon Forge Games has pushed several updates: larger on-screen text, a change so that every click counts, a softer sound, a clearer metrics consent dialog and a new Credits page in the menu.
