nubia introduces the „Up Your Game“, international version of the REDMAGIC 8 Pro alongside REDMAGIC’s new logo

Shenzhen, China – January 16th, 2023 – Today nubia introduced the new „Up Your Game“ international flagship gaming smartphone the REDMAGIC 8 Pro. Designed to raise the bar, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, LPDDR5x, and UFS 4.0, all paired with REDMAGIC’s Red Core 2, its upgraded dedicated gaming chip.

The latest flagship model is available in two futuristic designs: Matte, a glaze of elegant and sleek black geared with 12GB RAM and 256GB of memory, and Void, the iconic transparent design with 16GB RAM and 512GB of memory.

The REDMAGIC 8 Pro has an upgraded battery of 6000mAh with 65W GaN super fast charging. It boasts the industry’s first ultra-narrow bezel flexible full screen with the second generation of the under-display camera (UDC). Including the iconic and improved 20,000 rpm turbofan for high-speed cooling, dual shoulder triggers at 520Hz, and the latest software, the REDMAGIC OS 6.0 features Mora in augmented reality (AR) and more. All carefully designed for better gaming experiences. It is HDMI and USB compatible with TVs, and can be connected to monitors with type-C cables. The primary camera has been upgraded to the Samsung GN5 camera to offer 50 megapixels for stunning images and crystal-clear videos.

The Fastest Chipset Ever: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

The beast mode processor of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 runs at a speed of 3.2GHz with Qualcomm’s Adreno GPU that is 42% faster and delivers 50% more power efficiency than its predecessor for the REDMAGIC 8 Pro, while the Kryo CPU is 37% more efficient.

The UFS 4.0, besides optimizing storage and file read-write speeds, is 100% faster paired with up to a 512 GB ROM and LPDDR5x memory that is over 100% faster than LPDDR5, achieving a score of 1,348,653 on Antutu. As a result, the energy efficiency of the device has been improved by 20% on the GPU, while battery capacity has also increased by 20%. It is matched with the 65W super fast charger that can fully charge in less than 43 minutes.

Combined with the upgraded dedicated gaming chip, the „Red Core 2“, offers real time adjustments on the shoulder triggers, vibrations, touch, and sound effects during gameplay to elevate the gaming experience.

More improvements also come with the „cube performance optimizer“ (CPO), which compensates for in-game frame rates without increasing power consumption for a more stable gaming experience. The CPO works with the cache and the display. Both process the pictures synchronously and instantaneously by „calling“ the quintuple buffering from the Magic GPU when an image needs to be displayed.

The upgraded CPO also offers three triggers based on user interactions without increasing power consumption. First, in the absence of user interaction, the interaction trigger can automatically reduce battery consumption levels. The second scene trigger can automatically optimize performance when detecting video playback and gaming interaction. The third render trigger can activate the magic GPU to improve the stability of gaming frames.

A Brighter and Bolder Display with 2nd Generation of UDC

With an exclusive flexible full screen, REDMAGIC’s 8 Pro ultra-narrow bezels are 1.48 mm narrow left and right, 2.28 mm for the lower bezel (chin), and 1.68 mm for the upper bezel (forehead). Its display is 6.8-inch AMOLED with an FHD 2480*1116 screen resolution and a screen-to-body ratio of 93.7%.

In collaboration with BOE technology, the device is geared with UDC technology able to deliver more than 2 megapixels of visual brilliance at a 1300 nits peak brightness, excellent for gaming outdoors thanks to its three major improvements. The first, its independent pixel drive technology, where each pixel is controlled independently, that further enhances screen clarity.

Next, the UDC transparent circuit and screen circuit design uses an innovative transparent circuit between the UDC and the screen to create a see-through effect. Thirdly, the UDCs Pro chip’s optimization algorithm allows it to reach a high resolution of 400 PPI.

The Vapor Chamber (VC) liquid cooling plate of the REDMAGIC 8 Pro has been improved to double layer and be larger, making it capable of covering the battery, powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Red Core gaming chips with its volume of 2068mm3, and its heat conduction efficiency is 600% higher.

With nubia’s iconic technology, 20,000 rpm built-in turbofan with RGB lights, this cooling system has ten layers of heat dissipation materials with a maximum fuselage temperature of 41.70°C. Furthermore, its blades are ultra-thin at 0.01mm allowing it to decrease the temperature by 2.7°C, reduce noise by 4dB, and increase airflow volume by 35%. Also, by adjusting the air duct space it has achieved a 35% increase in airflow.

As one of the most efficient in the industry for dissipating heat in a mobile device, the ten layers include a liquid cooling plate, graphene under the screen, a s centrifugal fan, an air intake, and an aluminum middle frame with rare earth materials with ultra-soft and high thermal conductivity, copper foil under the screen, high thermal conductivity gel, composite graphene, and superconducting copper foil to produce the most efficient cooling system ever.
