/e/OS & Murena Extend the Life of Fairphone 3 Beyond Initial Support

As Fairphone announced the end of software support for the Fairphone 3 with Google’s Android after seven years, and /e/OS is thrilled to announce that the story doesn’t end here.

Even after Android support ends for Fairphone 3, Murena and Fairphone will continue delivering software updates and security support for the Fairphone 3 with /e/OS operating system for additional two years. This extension ensures that users can keep their devices secure, functional, and up to date, without the need to change the device.

This is an important step in changing the smartphone ecosystem. Thanks to Fairphone’s commitment to sustainability and open-source principles, /e/OS is able to extend longevity even after manufacturer support ends. Where most devices would face obsolescence, the Fairphone 3 gets a second life.
