Cooler Master, a global leader in PC components and thermal management solutions, today launched the MasterFan A Series (A120, A120 FC) and MasterFan M Series (M120 ARGB). Both products have received independent performance certification from Cybenetics Labs, earning the highest ‘Diamond’ rating for Static Pressure among all 120mm fans evaluated by Cybenetics to date.
INDEPENDENT CYBENETICS CERTIFICATION
Cybenetics is an independent certification body that evaluates fans using standardized test protocols based on ISO 5801-2007, AMCA 210-0, and ASHRAE 51-2007. Testing is conducted in a hemi-anechoic chamber with a 6 dB(A) noise floor, using calibrated instrumentation. Results cannot be self-reported, they are third-party verified and publicly listed.
The PHI metric, pressure and airflow at a fixed 25 dBA noise threshold, is the key differentiator. It answers the question no spec sheet does: how much does this fan actually deliver at the noise level a real user would tolerate?
“The Diamond Static Pressure rating is not self-reported. It is the result of independent, standardized testing in conditions that replicate real-world deployment. Both MasterFan A120 and M120 earned it among all 120mm fans Cybenetics has evaluated.”
ENGINEERING RATIONALE
Both product lines share an aluminum frame, a structural choice that eliminates the flex polymer frames exhibit under sustained load. Where they diverge is blade material, bearing system, and target use case.
MasterFan A Series — Aluminum Blades, Precision Tolerances
The A Series uses die-cast aluminum blades that maintain precise geometry at any operating speed. This enables a 0.6 mm blade-to-frame clearance, tighter than is achievable with polymer blades, which flex and deviate from design spec under load. The reduced air leakage at that gap directly translates into the static pressure numbers Cybenetics measured. A proprietary three-piece blade structure and industrial-grade two-stage dynamic balancing support smooth, reliable operation. The Two-Ball Bearing is matched to the additional mass of aluminum blades, rated for over 200,000 hours MTTF.
MasterFan M Series — LCP Blades, Magnetic Dynamic Bearing
The M Series uses LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer) blades paired with Magnetic Dynamic Bearing (MDB), which uses magnetic levitation to eliminate mechanical contact between rotor and housing. Active lubricant recycling channels extend bearing lifespan. The result is 75.2 CFM at 27 dBA maximum, with an MTTF exceeding 200,000 hours, ARGB Gen.2 lighting, and a price point accessible to a broader range of builds.
Three-Phase Motor (A Series) / Single-Phase Motor (M Series)
The A Series uses a three-phase, six-pole motor for smoother rotation across the full operating range. The same architecture is used in Cooler Master’s Mobius Slim series. The M Series uses a single-phase motor matched to its lower-load profile.
SPECIFICATIONS
MasterFan A Series — A120 / A120 FC
A120 FC requires optional controller for operation above 2,500 RPM. ±0.6mm blade-to-frame clearance maintained across full speed range.

MasterFan M Series — M120 ARGB

Design recognition: The MasterFan A Series has been awarded the iF Design Award 2026 (independent international jury, ~11,000 entries from 70+ countries) and the Red Dot Award 2026, one of the world’s most recognized distinctions in product design.
