Biostar Introduces The Edgecomp MS-U320 Fanless Edge AI System For Industrial And Smart Infrastructure Applications

BIOSTAR, a leading manufacturer of edge AI solution, IPC systems, motherboards, graphics cards, and storage devices, today introduced the EdgeComp™ MS-U320, a compact fanless edge AI system powered by the Intel® Core™ 5 320 processor (Wildcat Lake). Designed for equipment manufacturers and system integrators, the MS-U320 combines on-site data processing, light AI computing, and industrial connectivity for applications in industrial automation, smart manufacturing, industrial IoT, smart retail, and smart infrastructure.

The MS-U320 features an onboard Intel® Core™ 5 320 processor with six cores, clock speeds of up to 4.6GHz, a 15W TDP, and integrated Intel® graphics. A single DDR5-6400 SO-DIMM slot supports up to 64GB of memory, while the integrated CPU, GPU and NPU deliver up to 40 TOPS of AI performance. This combination supports local data processing and light AI workloads without requiring a separate accelerator.

For industrial connectivity, the system provides four COM ports: two RS232 ports and two ports configurable for RS232, RS422, or RS485 communication. Dual 2.5GbE LAN ports, powered by Intel® I226-LM and I226-V controllers, provide connections to industrial devices and networks. Two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and four USB 2.0 ports support peripheral connectivity. Onboard audio uses an ALC897 codec with an ALC105 amplifier with separate headphone and microphone jacks.

Display connectivity includes HDMI® 2.1, supporting resolutions of up to 3840 × 2160 at 60Hz, and DisplayPort 1.4, supporting resolutions of up to 4096 × 2160 at 60Hz.

Three M.2 slots provide storage and wireless expansion options. The M.2 Key-M slot supports 2242/2280 NVMe SSDs through a PCIe 4.0 x2 interface. The M.2 Key-B slot supports 3042/3052 4G/5G modules via PCIe 4.0 x1 and USB 3.2, plus a SIM slot for cellular connectivity. The M.2 Key-E 2230 slot supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules via PCIe 4.0 x1 and USB 2.0.

Housed in a 167 × 135 × 60mm chassis, the MS-U320 features a fanless design. Its wide-range 9–24V DC input accommodates various power sources, and it includes a 90W power adapter. The system supports operating temperatures from −20°C to 50°C and humidity levels from 5% to 90%. It is compatible with Windows 11 64-bit, Windows 11 IoT Enterprise 24H2, and Ubuntu 24.04. Optional DIN rail, wall mount, and VESA mount kits provide additional installation options.

The EdgeComp™ MS-U320 combines serial connectivity, high-speed networking, wireless expansion, and light edge AI processing in a compact, fanless platform, giving system integrators flexible deployment options for industrial and smart infrastructure projects.
