The Gainward Hollywood@Home product series will start shipping in November 2003 and will include advanced TV tuner cards, high quality 3D surround sound cards, powerful multimedia upgrades for the PCI slot and as well as a range of power-ful Laptop upgrades to be connected through a USB port.

The Gainward Hollywood@Home EntertainmentCenterCard (Digital Audio/Video Recorder) is an advanced FM/TV tuner card with integrated hardware MPEG-2 to function exactly like a digital video recorder with a built in TV tuner module. With on-board MPEG-2 in hardware the Gainward Hollywood@Home EntertainmentCenterCard is able to compress any video stream either from the TV-tuner or any other internal/external video-source into a high quality DVD file in real-time. In combination with bundled TV-Tuner/Video-Editing-Software the user can create his own movies to be burnt on a CD-ROM later on. For system integrators the Gainward Hollywood@Home EntertainmentCenterCard will work perfectly with Microsoft MediaCenter.

The Gainward Hollywood@Home 7.1 SoundCard is a high quality sound card based on the new 7.1 standard (VIA Envy 24 sound engine) with an excellent speaker solution. A comprehensive software bundle will maximize the functionality.

In addition, Gainward will introduce Gainward Hollywood@Home MultiPort-Card. This powerful multimedia upgrade for the PCI slot supports 3 FireWire ports (two external, one internal) plus 6 USB 2.0 ports (three external, two additional exter-nal with a daughter bracket, one internal) to extend the connectivity and versatility of the home computer.

The Gainward Hollywood@Home MediaXtender is primarily designed to en-hance the multimedia capabilities of Laptop computers. Connected through a USB port Gainward Hollywood@Home MediaXtender provides 5.1 channel surround sound, two additional USB 2.0 ports plus a 6-in-1 memory card reader (CompactFlash Card, SmartMedia Card, Secured Digital Card, MultiMedia Card, Memory Stick from SONY and MicroDrive from IBM/Hitachi).
