August 18, 2006 – The 14th annual Taiwan SOE (Symbol of Excellence) awards have once again acknowledged Albatron products for their innovative design and creative branding strategies. This year, Albatron proudly boasts products receiving awards in Mainboard, VGA Card and MiniPC categories.

The SOE awards are issued by TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) as part of a 14-year program supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Taiwan’s Image Enhancement Plan (IEP). These awards are given for recognition of outstanding product qualities after a rigorous screening process which evaluates R&D Innovation, Design Innovation, Quality, Marketing and Brand Awareness. The products that win these awards earn the right to bear the prestigious SOE logo on their packaging and represent Taiwan as the top products in the country. This logo has been registered and recognized in over 90 countries around the world.

Albatron has won SOE awards every year since 2003, garnering awards for CRT TVs, LCD TVs, Wireless Products (WIDIO), Mainboards and VGA cards. These products demonstrate Albatron’s ability to compete at a very high level in a very sophisticated electronics and communications industry. This year’s competition included 635 entrees and proved to be especially difficult with the judges not only critiquing the product itself but also scrutinizing customer feedback.

This year, Albatron’s GeForce 6 series VGA cards, an SLI Mainboard and the Nano MiniPC all received SOE awards. The GeForce 6 series VGA cards not only focus on distinctive quality and performance but also meet very high standards for cost/performance ratios – this has attracted much media attention and also had SOE award judges taking notice. Albatron’s SLI mainboards are always at the head of the pack, boasting creative designs and support for the latest SLI technology. Even now, Albatron has SLI mainboards which are only a few of a small number of mainboards supporting quad SLI configurations using 7950GX2 cards. .

Finally, Albatron’s Nano PC was certainly no surprise winner, given its highly marketable capabilities and the media attention it has received. This small, book-sized PC boasts big performance and powerful multimedia capabilities bringing the best in High Definition display output along with 7.1 surround sound acoustical audio. Support for the latest generation in mobile CPUs boosts performance at the same time keeping temperatures down inside the diminutive 18 x 29 x 6 cm case. You’ll have to see it for yourself to believe it.

Albatron is no stranger to the SOE awards and works vigorously every year to champion its products with a strong showing at this prestigious annual competition. This year marks the fourth consecutive year that Albatron has won SOE awards and the company is determined to continue its dedication to excellence in quality and performance.
