Taipei, April 11th, 2005 – XGI™ Technology Inc, a leading graphics solution provider, demonstrates live demo of new PCIe product XG47 in IDF Taipei on April 11th, 2005. XGI™ will be meeting with world-wide software developers and hardware designers regarding the co-development of cutting edge graphics technology with the latest games. XGI™ is a professional, design-oriented company for graphic processing solutions. Furthermore, XGI™ is setting up the global distribution network for its own branded Volari™ graphics cards.

“Attending IDF provides XGI a chance to demonstrate and inform system-level developers in using the latest technology from our next generation products,” said Mr. Ralph Cheng, XGI’s VP of Marketing. “This is the time when we introduce new ideas, discuss latest technology with developers, and introduce possible new applications to other vendors.”

The new XG47 is the project name for the value segment graphics processor, supporting native PCIe, DirectX 9.0, and advanced 0.13um process. XG47 is Shader Model 2.0 and has the DRAM interface of 64 bit. Furthermore, XGI introduces its eXtreme Cache™ architecture which utilizes the shared system memory to reduce the need of actual graphics memory. Meanwhile, the performance of the graphics processor is retained. The advantage of eXtreme Cache™ is to reduce the cost of actual graphics card while meeting performance needs. In terms of Video Features, XG47 has integrated TV encoder, DVI output up to 2048 x 1536, 3:2 pull-down for movies, and LCD overdrive. The new XG47 is MCE logo ready because of its fan-less heat-sink design and the CPU utilization rate of well under 60%. It also has great de-interlacing, high image quality, motion compensation, and IDCT. In addition, XG47 has DVI, CRT, HDTV and TV-Out and for mobile solutions, it will be MXM type I ready.
