Set sail to the heart of the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy in ‘Republic of Pirates’, a swashbuckling city-builder with real-time naval combat coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in late 2025.

Take up the challenge of forging a glorious pirate utopia by developing your humble outpost into a sprawling archipelago-spanning republic. Invest in production buildings and distribute valuable goods across a network of docks and depots to address the needs of your citizens. Recruit heroic captains and command a powerful fleet of ships as you take to the waves in the name of conquest and glory. Discover and liberate islands, defeat rival factions, and navigate complex diplomatic relationships with the most influential national trading companies of the era.

• Create a resource-based economy – Utilize 100+ unique buildings to provide the essential resources for growth. Supply citizens with goods, develop their proficiency, and unlock new tiers of industry.
• Engage in real-time naval battles – Command a fleet to explore and conquer the archipelago. Engage in real-time strategic combat and switch to the tactical map to plan and execute your next raid.
• Conduct diplomacy – Manage dynamic relationships with pirate crews and trading companies. Harbor rivalries and forge alliances while navigating a diplomatic web where no action goes unnoticed.
• Expand your fleet – Construct 8 unique ship classes and customize your fleet’s appearance. Recruit talented captains, hone their skills in battle, and experiment with a variety of combat tactics.
• Undertake missions – Collect bounties or strike trade deals to influence your standing in the Caribbean. Race to fulfill urgent requests and embellish your settlements with exotic rewards.
• Includes customizable free play mode – Discover additional pre-made maps or create your own using the map editor. Customize everything from island count to faction behavior.

ESTABLISH A THRIVING SETTLEMENT

Construct over 100 unique buildings across 7 categories to develop your settlements. Build residences to house your citizens and set up production chains to produce resources that fulfill their needs and wants. Strategically place depots to link production buildings and create an efficient flow of goods.

Upgrade your citizens to create a more diversified workforce and support increasingly complex industries. You’ll ultimately need to balance your global population with the local availability of specialized workers on every island you own to ensure steady growth across your burgeoning republic!

COMMAND A POWERFUL FLEET

Visit the shipyard to construct 8 different ship classes, from the humble cog to the formidable man-of-war! Each ship has its own unique stats and can be constructed using a combination of producible materials and resources looted from destroyed enemy vessels. Assign individual captains and customize each ship’s cosmetics before ordering your new fleet to strike out and explore the archipelago.

Encounter and engage a variety of NPC ships with varying behaviors, from vulnerable merchant vessels to hostile neighbors. Gain experience through combat to level up your captains and unlock specializations, or activate ship actions such as the scattershot and smoke bomb to give you the tactical edge in battle.

CONQUER THE ARCHIPELAGO

Expanding your settlements across different islands is the key to building a successful pirate utopia, as each island will have more buildable land, unique production conditions, and access to essential, rare materials.

All islands will initially be under the control of rival factions, and you’ll need to defeat an island’s defenses before it can be conquered. Be warned, however, as your expansionist actions will influence the attitudes of the other factions to your benefit and detriment. You’ll therefore need to navigate and actively manage complex diplomatic relationships in order to keep expanding!

WRITE YOUR OWN LEGEND

Customize your experience from the ground up in free play mode using the custom map editor. Create unique archipelagos using a wide variety of configurable parameters, and share your creations using unique seed IDs.

Looking for a more casual experience? Try out the sandbox mode preset to immediately unlock all ship classes, customization options, buildings, and decorations.

‘Republic of Pirates’ is OUT NOW on Steam and Epic Games Store, and is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in late 2025.
