Primal Planet Launching on Steam on July 28

We are excited to announce that Primal Planet, a solo-developed, story-driven sci-fi metroidvania game, will be available on Steam on July 28th.

Primal Planet –recently featured by top sites such as IGN and PC Gamer– blends survival, crafting, and strategic combat in a lush, dinosaur-filled world, where you rise from a cave dweller to humanity’s last hope — playable solo or in local co-op.

About the Game

Developed by solo creator Seethingswarm and published by Pretty Soon (Backpack Hero, Havendock), Primal Planet is a dinosaur-powered metroidvania. Its retro pixel-art visuals evoke classic 16-bit adventures. But unlike typical genre entries, this one blends in survival-crafting mechanics and full local co-op support.
You’ll explore mysterious biomes, gather resources, cook meals, build tools, and care for your vulnerable home — all while navigating the emotional stakes of a heartfelt story told entirely without words.

And you don’t have to do it alone. A tiny dino sidekick (Sinosauropteryx) fights alongside you, and a second player can jump in at any time to take control for local co-op. It’s a game about taking care of someone close — whether it’s your daughter or your dino. Pass the controller to a person you love and suddenly it’s not just those funny pixel-art characters looking out for each other.
