AOpen launches the first graphics card in the Aeolus series with an open BIOS, the Aeolus FX5600S. Leading technology features such as Dr LED, AGMS (Advanced GPU & Memory System) and ACS (Advanced Cooling System) allow the end-user to alter parameters of the card that were off limits up until now…

Features of the Aeolus FX5600S:

  • GPU: GeForce FX5600
  • Memory: 128/256MB (3.6ns) high-speed DDR (128-bit interface)
  • Output: 15-pin CRT/TV-OUT/DVI connectors
  • Dr. LED: Hardware Diagnostics through 9 integrated LEDs
  • AGMS: Advanced GPU & Memory System.
  • ACS: Advanced Cooling System

Dr LED gives the user a real-time diagnostics tool for the VGA card. The 9 LEDs (in blue, orange and red) give information about 8x AGP being enabled, the factory default cooling fan settings having been changed, the power supply to memory and GPU being OK, etc. etc.

The AGMS allows the user to

  • adjust GPU and memory clock
  • monitor GPU and memory voltage
  • adjust GPU and memory voltage
  • adjust memory parameters

  • allows the user to monitor and control the cooling fan speed
  • detects temperature, without using GPU or CPU
  • 3-mode control for cooling fan speed: Temperature, Speed and Manual mode

Other striking features of the FX5600S include the high-performance and high-quality 3.6 DDR Samsung video memory, and the optimized signal layout that prevents signal cross talk.
