Players can now enjoy Mateo’s haunting journey through Gévaudan with improved performance and compatibility on Nintendo’s latest hardware. Whether you’re hunting the Beast for the first time or returning to finish the fight, the experience has never looked or played better on Nintendo Switch 2.

The game is available now digitally on Nintendo Switch (and fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2), as well as on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, Series X|S and Steam and physically on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5.

Enter a world where myth bleeds into history. Players begin their journey on the blood-soaked forest floor of Gévaudan, following the brutal massacre of Mateo’s comrades. To survive, Mateo must solve cryptic puzzles to unlock new paths. The game encourages exploration, backtracking, and gradual progression through the collection of various items, armour and weapons that unlock new abilities.

Mateo must battle his way through eerie townships, sprawling castles, and overgrown swamps, each filled with challenging enemies and intense boss fights. A dynamic day-night cycle adds further pressure, pushing players at every turn.

A Legendary Tale Resurfaces in Modern Times

Step into the role of Mateo Lombardo, the last apprentice of the ancient Rose Cross Order, as he hunts down the mythical Beast of Gévaudan – a monster drawn from real historical accounts that terrorised 18th century France. Chronicles of the Wolf is packed with everything fans love: tight combat, gothic storytelling and thrilling boss fights. A packed 10-12 hours of finely crafted metroidvania gameplay and over 150 enemy types to face off against will keep players anticipating what Migami has cooked up after every successful battle.

The Talent That Brings Darkness to Life

The narration is brought to life by Robert Belgrade, a legendary voice talent known for his work across the Tekken series, as well as Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (Alucard) memorable roles in Mega Man X7 (Signas) and Soul Blade (Rock).

Adding further depth, the stunning illustrated cutscenes and a haunting soundtrack composed by Jeffrey Montoya, Chronicles of the Wolf delivers a deeply immersive and cinematic experience. Enhancing the game’s rich atmosphere is a breathtaking guest track by Óscar Araujo (Listen Here), acclaimed for his powerful compositions on Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Lords of Shadow 2, and the cult film Neon Flesh.
