14th November 2005 – Tenomichi today announced that it has teamed up with AMD (NYSE: AMD) to deliver dual-core accelerated video editing with real-time effects on the new AMD Athlon (TM) 64 X2 dual-core processor.

The optimized version of Tenomichi’s award winning 3D Edit Gold V3 will initially be made available to end users through selected system builders in UK, France and Germany when purchased with computers based on the AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor.

3D Edit Gold V3 takes advantage of AMD’s powerful dual-core processor architecture enabling different video streams to be decompressed by each core, drastically improving the amount of multiple streams of SD and HD video that can be edited. The software contains many new features including „Super Scene Detection“ which utilises both cores to examine video footage and break it in to different scenes. You can copy the contents of your camcorder as one single file onto your hard drive and 3D Edit Gold V3 will divide it up into scenes for you using a new dual-core accelerated image processing algorithm. 3D Edit Gold V3 enables real-time editing and recording of high definition formats including Windows Media High Definition Video (WMV HD), Divx, Xvid and HDV.

„The power of the AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor means that for the first time independent film makers and videographers can access real-time special effects with high definition resolutions“, said Richard Faria, Tenomichi’s Chairman. „Tenomichi’s 3D Edit Gold V3 combines the power of the AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor with the real-time capabilities of the graphics chip creating a harmony between CPU and GPU.“

„AMD is focused on removing technology barriers to the creative process so digital artists and producers can continue to amaze their audiences in new and previously unimaginable ways“, said Doug Hooks, EMEA director of marketing, AMD. „Innovators like Tenomichi and programs like 3D Edit running on AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processors can help reduce traditional bottlenecks, allowing editors to work their magic unencumbered by such technology limitations.“

Users of Tenomichi’s 3D Edit Gold V3 will receive on-going regular updates of new features and effects as soon as they register the product along with the ability to upgrade to new effects and broadcast formats.
