Taipei, January 10, 2006 – X-Micro Technology Corp. has just introduced the new WLAN 11g Combo Finder Adapter. This handy device combines the functions of a WLAN (Wi-Fi) network detector and WLAN 802.11b+g USB adapter. At home, you can access the internet wirelessly by plugging this USB device into a notebook or desktop computer and connecting to ADSL via a wireless router. On the go, you can push a button on this device to quickly find out if you are in a Wi-Fi network hotspot before turning on your notebook, and then plug it in to use as a WLAN 11g dongle. The WLAN 11g Combo Finder Adapter saves time and provides added mobility for Wi-Fi network users.

About the size of a typical USB flash drive, the WLAN 11g Combo Finder Adapter slips easily into a pocket to accompany you wherever you go. When you arrive at a possible WiFi network hotspot, just pull out the device, then press and hold its one button with your thumb. Flashing indicators quickly let you know whether Wi-Fi service is available or not.
The one-piece unit has a durable push-pull sliding cover for its USB connector. The built-in battery automatically recharges when connected to a computer’s USB port and an indicator shows when the battery needs recharge. When connected to a USB port the device becomes a user-friendly WLAN 11g dongle for added wireless connectivity.

„For the needs of today’s mobile Wi-Fi users, the WLAN 11g Combo Finder Adapter provides a convenient solution with multiple functions,“ said Luis Lin, president of X-Micro. „It lets you know whether or not you can link to an access point before turning on your notebook. And if your notebook has no built-in WLAN capability, you just plug it in and use it as a WLAN 11g dongle.“
The X-Micro WLAN 11g Combo Finder Adapter is fully compatible with the USB 2.0 specification. The plug & play device is self-powered and recharged through a USB port. The WLAN 11g Combo Finder Adapter is compatible with Windows 2000/ME/XP.
