Smaller and cooler: WinFast GTX 550 Ti overclocked version has made 15% improvement on heat dissipation

Taipei, Taiwan, March 15, 2011 – WinFast® GTX 550 Ti has smaller and better heat dissipation than the reference design. WinFast® GTX 550 Ti overclocked version has made a 15% improvement in heat dissipation! Leadtek Research Inc., known globally for its extreme visual graphics technology, added its new launch to the Fermi II generation family for enthusiasts and changed its GeForce graphics cards series package to a new design. The new package design shows wild animal figures and delivers the strength and speed reflected on Leadtek’s graphics card features. It also has excellent stability and performance. The WinFast® GTX 550 Ti overclocked version has two 8mm copper heat pipes, aluminum fins and a big 7cm fan to dissipate heat from the back of the card for quicker cooling, which can lower temperature quickly. The special durable cooling design not only creates a dramatic cool-down effect, but also maintains low noise, ensuring top cooling efficiency and silence in the system. And its 7.64 inch in length makes the GTX 550 Ti easier to install on the motherboard.

The WinFast® GTX 550 Ti overclocked version is based on the new GF116 silicon, features 192 CUDA cores, a 192-bit GDDR5 memory interface, and core clock speeds of 930 MHz. Featuring 70% more memory bandwidth than the 128-bit interface, its memory clock (memory bandwidth) reaches up to 2050 (4100) MHz, delivering higher data transmission. The WinFast® GTX 550 Ti has 28% faster 3D performance under specific games and has 20% better performance per watt compared to the previous generation WinFast® GTS 450. The WinFast® GTX 550 Ti fully supports and exploits the features of Microsoft Windows 7, GPU-accelerated tessellation of DirectX®11 and Shader Model 5.0 designed for ultra high performance in the new API’s key graphics feature and OpenGL 4.0 as well.

Along with the new launch, Leadtek also unveils its new package design. Leadtek delivers a simple concept on its package to distinguish high-end, mid-level and entry level product categories by showing different wild animals.
