Der inoffizielle Nachfolger des Spiele-Hits "Far Cry" basiert auf einer eigenen, hochmodernen Engine (CryEngine), die mit zahlreichen Features, schöner und zum Teil wirklichkeitsgetreuer Grafik auch High-End Grafikkarten in die Knie zwingt.


Crysis: Links Medium, rechts High Quality (Anklicken zum Vergrößern!)

Getestet wurde mit der Vollversion und dem HOCBench-Tool in den Einstellungen "Medium" mit 4x Full-Scene Anti-Aliasing und 8x anisotroper Filterung sowie "Very High", einmal ohne und einmal mit 4x FSAA und 8x AF.

In Crysis gibt es verschiedene Ergebnisse, wenn man den Vergleich von Radeon HD 4830 und GeForce GTX 9800 betrachtet. In der Einstellung 'Medium' ist die Nvidia-Karte schneller, bei "Very high" dagegen das ATI-Produkt. Allerdings werden bei letzteren Settings keine wirklich spielbaren Bildwiederholraten erreicht.
Die Radeon HD 4830 ist dabei maximal 8 Prozent langsamer als die 4850.
